and thought itd be nice to put something like this on my page too!

| no. | date finished | first watch? | title | type | year released | directed by | production | why watched it | general thoughts | liked it? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
18.01.2026 | y | alien (director's cut special edition) | full-length | 1979 | ridley scott | british-american | classic thats been on my list forever | really beautifully made, i want to draw some shots. The sets and camera shots are stunning. I think the spaceships were miniatures, which makes me rly excited and want to see them un edited. kinda meh story wise but, over all fun. Wonderful artistic direction. The alien design is genius | y
19.01.2026 | y | v for vendetta | full-length | 2005 | wachowski sisters | american | someone on tumblr posted about it, i wanted to watch the matrix for a while and its from the wachowski sisters so why not | terrificly engaging, it was super neat to see the lore unfold before my eyes, V is a very fun character too. very hopeful in general, wish it was an animated film tbh, a lot of scenes would truly shine then, i need to watch more Wachowski films, cried twice | y
19.01.2026 | y | the thing (remaster) | full-length | 1982 | john carpenter | american | classic thats been on my list forever, also the poster fucks severly | once again didnt find the premise/story to be terribly interesting but it was pretty engaging. It was nice to try to figure out who could be the thing. The film built suspense well. The effects were really good too | y
20.01.2026 | y | aliens (director's cut special edition) | full-length | 1986 | james cameron | american | why not watch the whole series | Half-life gun is so BADASS. Women r awesome. Generally good action film, the xenomorph queen design is the fucking coolest. Cool explosions and effects. Glad they added that shrewed guy and his evil plans cause it wouldve been kinda boring otherwise. Newt is cool too, found family fuck yea. Wanna watch the next film now. Hopefully they will flesh out newt even more. Love ripley, hope she lives to old age. | y
20.01.2026 | y | lars and the real girl | full-length | 2007 | craig gillespie | american | suggested by a tumblr user | i dig the v akward vibes. Great acting overall, loved all the performances, esp karin and lars. Id like to re-watch it in a bit, maybe then ill have a better grasp on my own feelings and opinion on it. Its definitely a journey of (and about!) recovery. one of my first thoughts was: "wow these ppl are so nice! i want the world to be like that" and now im like! it is, tho! and by jove im gonna make it even more like that if i can help it. very good. | y
20.01.2026 | y | bram stoker's dracula (remastered) | full-length | 1992 | francis ford coppola | american | suggested by a tumblr mutual | foaming at the mouth at the cinematography. Pretty faithful to the book. A few weird and very artistic decisions that i wasnt feeling v much at first, but they work wonderfully. I feel like i understand the original novel more after watching it. Also. The most sensual non-sex sex scenes fucking ever, its aweosme. But similarily to my reading of the book, i was a lil tired of it by the climax (the chase after dracula, back to transylvania) | y
21.01.2026 | n | ghostbusters II | full-length | 1989 | ivan reitman | american | wanted to for some time now, why not today since im on a roll! | its fun! Kinda not good but funny, esp venkamn and spangler. Dana is rly cool too. Zeddemore is just there, barely any lines at all which makes me sad:( Both 1 and 2 seem to be very much comfort films, prolly wouldnt be recommending it willy nilly casue its low-key wierd abt moldavia, xenophobic, racist?? its getting the orientalist treatment. | y
21.01.2026 | y | how harry became a tree | full-length | 2001 | goran paskaljević | british-french-irish-italian | was looking thru colm meaneys body of work | in which harry does, indeed become a tree. A really wonderful production! Felt weirdly at home with all the small village drama, i feel like i was perfectly primed for this after all my required reading at school. It all felt very raw, meaney did a good job as harry. Would like to familiarise myself with the original mythology before watching it again. | y
21.01.2026 | y | the ugly stepsister | full-length | 2025 | emilie blichfeldt | norwegian | rec by a tumblr mutual | i dont know what i expected after hearing its body horror! The medical procedures were horrible. Terrible terrible so so terrible! Geez. But yeah, its terrifying. I think they treated the subject well. Beauty standards and the pressure on young girls to adhere to them is very much straight out of a horror film. Changing the focus from cinderella herself to one of the stepsisters was a genius move, cinderella became basically a villain. Its really good but i fuckig hated it | y
22.01.2026 | y | alien 3 (director's cut special edition) | full-length | 1992 | david fincher | american | why not watch the whole series | with each new alien film i seem to like it less and less!! its fine, but i found it hard to care, and thus pay attetnion:/ ripley is cool as laways but i did want to see more of newt. Also, the aline is fucking cg now? I dont rly know if thats it but it looks weird and ugly:/ its never rly shown on screen doing much. When its running its silly and only the head got any close ups, did they even have an entire alien physically made?? probably a puppet and not a costume like in the preious ones. Im sad. I guess it was fine. Itd be a fine edning for the trilogy but i know its not:/ | :/
22.01.2026 | y | water lilies | full-length | 2007 | céline sciamma | french | listed as inspiration by user rosemarinae for her fic: synecdoche mew york | both the cinematography, costumes and sets felt so very raw. Long shots, oddly real colour grading (if graded at all?) not much music, intimate moments, i didnt feel like watching a film most of the time. I felt like i experienced another childhood, one that i was too asexual and lonely to experience first hand. I guess. Its good. Yea. | y
26.01.2026 | y | we were smart - shamate documentary | full-length | 2019 | li yifan | chinese | i saw a poster on tumblr | It is quite beautiful what can arise from terrible circumstances. i want hair like that, i want community like that. I feel like whatever i write here ill sound like a priiviledged europe fuck anyway. it was nice watching a little bit before and after work. Felt like a home video, simple shots and fun editing. Not anything im used to, but its great. | y
26.01.2026 | y | the black tower | short | 1987 | john smith | british | mutual mentioned it in a reblog | sat stransfixed. Huge fan how much heavy lifting the narrator does, esp after hearing how voice over is lazy and an easy way out for many film makers (lol thanks adaptation 2002!) My eyes literally sparkled when i saw those solid colour camera shots, and then i fucking whooped when i saw that finger gripping the cup. Fucking obssessed. | y
26.01.2026 | y | alien ressurection | full-length | 1997 | jean-pierre jeunet | american | why not watch the whole series | i think im done w the alien films. Ok ive had a bad day and i was taking this film too seriously. I still dont rly like it, but it had some fun wacky moments. Kinda mad what they did to ripley, she was way moer badass while not an alien hybrid | n
2.02.2026 | y | a field in england | full-length | 2013 | ben wheatley | british | rec by a tumblr mutual | cool and artsy, dont rly know what i thikn of it. Interesting but almost forgettable? I dont know! Super cool it all happened literally on one filed. Like 6 or 7 actors in general, very low budget feels but they did a great job with it anyways. Feels kinda like a debiut of some art collage guy. Would like to give it a re watch sometime, and dig into the symbolisms and shit, but rn i dont rly know from where to even strat on those. | y
3.02.2026 | y | five nights at freddy's | full-length | 2023 | emma tammi | american | had it downloaded so why not | very mid lol it can look pretty! Sillay, i guess i can have some fun but it is hard to pay attetnion. I kinda wasnt paying attention cause i just left ot make dinner near the climax, but oh well! Acting is iffy, a bit theatrical but it does the job! Fits quite well actually, kinda dig the vibe! The animatronics look awesome!!! crazy hearing the living tombstone in the end credits, lots of fun details and easter eggs. Fun i guess but kinda whatever | :/
4.02.2026 | y | keeping up with the joneses | full-length | 2016 | greg mottola | american | had it downloaded so why not | its fun! Doesnt take itself v seriously, the characters r goofy, and fun to watch. Theres this tension between the joneses and the main pair, karin is onto the woman and the hr guy is SO not onto the other guy, like. We know theyre like super agents or somehting but not exactly. Its fun!!! | y
5.02.2026 | y | night of the living dead | full-length | 1968 | george a. romeo | american | rec for last years halloween | boring!! its action ALL the time, baiscally no time to breathe, so the suspense and anxious momoents DONT work at all! Its got some fun shots tho. Also. Barabara going mute is just annoying:/ brings fucking nothing to the table, she might as well have nodded or hummed and itd all go the fucking same. She was so cool when running at the very start tho. Loved how she slipped near the house, that was fun. I can see all the modern zombie film tropes tho. Games too, undubitably influential. | n
11.02.1026 | y | iron lung | full-length | 2026 | mark fischbach | ameircan | markiplier. also wanted to see a film w/ a friend:) | awesome production. Wonderful debiut! Super impressed since there were maybe 7 actors involved at all. It all happens in one small room. Its just aweome! Like. They made a film that happens 100% in one smal; as fuck submarnie!!! that is just the coolest fucking thing. Acting is awesome, mark both as a director and an actor did a fantastic job. Was gripping the edges of my seat, fucking literally! Wonderful experience, film probably made better at the cinema, im not sure if i could sit through it alone (adhd lols, not the scare factor, not really) Obssessed with the macro shots and the close ups | y
11.02.2026 | y | repo! the genetic opera | full-length | 2008 | darren lynn bousman | american | freind watch party, since we were too drunk n tired to do anything else | fun production! Love the choice to keep the sets versy similar as to how theyd be on a theatrical producion. Very disticnt look kinda like the evanescence album, very pretty. Despite a very cyber punk premise its suuper gothic with the costumes. Kinda hard to keep up without the subtitles! Music in general wasnt too breathtaking but it was fun. | y
19.02.2026 | y | suspiria | full-length | 1977 | dario argento | italian | rec by a tumblr mutual | i know i didnt give it my best shot, im in a terrible mood and its super super hard to sit through the last 30ish minutes, i just dont care! It looks cool, acting is iffy. I dont know. Like i can see a lot of it in the later horror films it def is v influeantioal but. Kinda boring?:/ i need to give it another shot when im less irritable and impatient. It was rly cool. I did like the whole wtich coven twist but it didnt help that i had no clue where it was going right before that witch talk with the psychiatry guy. Eeeh. I dont know. should give it a re-watch sometime. | :/
23.02.2026 | y | human nature | full-length | 2001 | michel gondry | american | charlie kaufann wrote it | eeeeeeeeh. It was weird. Kinda weird about humans, as anything with that title would lols. it felt terribly. i dont know the word, preachy almost? like it had *the* answer as to how humans are. i just think there are no such clean answers, esp about something as vast and varied as fucking. HUMANITY. I guess it wasnt as misogynistic as i feared, but still. Kinda wished kaufmann directed it | n
24.02.2026 | y | creep 2 | full-length | 2017 | patrick brice | american | i liked the first one | super fun! Kinda wish i was paying more attention but alas. I needed to mend my fave pants. Camerawork improved a lot, even if its still a found footage film. Characters r super fun, especially sarah. They matched each others freak. actually kinda cute, i dont think i thought the guys from the first one were cute? I dont think i rly got the gay undertones from that one. now that i think about it, which is silly cause it was p obvious in hindsight. | y
24.02.2026 | y | beautiful evening, beautiful day | full-length | 2024 | ivona juka | croatian, polish, canadian, cyprus bosnia and herzegovina | mom wanted to see it at the cinema | damn. Wasnt expecting so much gay sex tbh. weird experience watching it next to my mom and with a bunch of elderly behind me. Rly great shots it was cool. I dont know. Weirdly uplifting even tho it was not a light film. Ppl will be ppl and have fun still. y'know. | y
4.03.2026 | y | cat people | full-length | 1982 | paul schrader | american | had it downloaded for some reason | i rly dont know why i had it in the first place tbh, i mightve been looking thru a clockowrk oranges main actor discography, cause thats the guy here too. Also i dont rly know how to read it? Generational trauma, pattriarchy maybe?? weird film, kinda boring but it might be just me. Im kinda itching to get up and do smth else after an hour and a half. I just kinda dont care hwat happens to leaopard irena at this point. | n
10.03.2026 | y | fight club | full-length | 1999 | david fincher | american | ppl mention it in passing | it all feels like some pseudo wise words from some drunk frat boy at a party thats slowly mellowing down. Cool vibe tbh. I can *ansolutely* see how „a guy who only really saw fight club” is an insufferable prick lols | y
10.03.2026 | y | inland empire | full-length | 2006 | david lynch | french, polish, american | disco, kinda | that was a lot huh. Kind of a misery to sith through, even tho i think i liked it in the end. I see a TON of what influenced the early analog horror. Dont tell david i chuckled a lil bit at the scary face jumpscare. | y
12.03.2026 | y | pulp fiction | full-length | 1994 | quentin tarantino | american | my bro just did, n i heard things abt it before so why not | many really good choices. Yummy colours. It all flows really good into eachother. Dialouges are fun and really fucking good so far. Rly good, it all circled back so freaking nice. Very fun. still cant get over pulp fiction tbh. written wonderfully, every scene flows perfectly into one another. they lead each other so beautifully, except the opening scene, which adds quite a lot of. idunno. tension? makes you wonder what the fuck is up with these two, since scene after scene, a guy is mentioned, characterization is set, some background bits included so you get their deal. And the next thing, you meet them, and it's spiralling so wonderfully. it makes one big circle in the end and its the coolest, fucking thing. devastatingly satisfying. | y
12.03.2026 | y | mulholland drive | full-length/td> | 2001 | david lynch | american | had it downloaded so why not | im just very done with that film after the two hours. I kinda hated the flashback sequence, it didnt feel rewarding after that whole ass mystery. And the whole thing with the amnesiac girl wasnt super interesting in the first place. Glad its over. i think its lynch. he just makes exhausting films, and only some of them r cool. | n
13.03.2026 | n | adaptation | full-length | 2002 | spike joneze | american | just got a dvd and needed to wind down after work. | yerp. Its great. Love the meta narrative, both cages are so terribly fun. Devastatingly relatable, both with art struggles and the creative process. One of my faves of all time for shure. If art becomes your job its not fun anymore, is pretty much a true statement. That's kinda why I'm really scared of even looking into art related college majors, and that's why I was terrifyingly burnt out after 5 years of highschool with a painting major. And this sentiment is now kinda all I see in adaptation 2002, after noticing the parallels after my last watch. Donald and Charlie are two sides of ones creativity, Donald is the self indulgent, populist or kitschy. Charlie is very much the serious, academia type, the one who takes it 100% seriously. He kept chastising Donald after he used words like "pitch" or "industry", like what he's doing himself is not participating in the film industry. Notice how Donald died right after successfully pitching his script. Right after making his art profitable, his job. The joy died. Only the "professional" part remains. Also he was literally shot by the subjects of Charlie's script. The people he was writing about. He was killed by his own art | y
16.03.2026 | y | RRR aka rise roar revolt | full-length | 2022 | s. s. rajamouli | indian | rec from someone on youraislopbores dot me | not used to a lot of editing choices but its super fun! The tension is really well built. Looking forward to the next 2 hours. Many great dualities and opposing themes and such. Very good, very fun film. when you first see Bheem and Raju ride side by side, in a motorcycle and a horse respectively, you might find it a bit odd! Raju was specifically portrayed with books in his room, in very western attire and speaking english fluently, you'd think a bike would fit him more! but at the end of the film the horse encapsulates his character perfectly, and its the fucking best. and i only really noted the horse/bike thing cause when i searched "RRR film" those two emojis sped across my screen | y
17.03.2026 | y | all of us strangers | full-length | 2023 | andrew haigh | british | someones criterion closet pick | the most lonely first minutes of any film i ever saw i think. Crushing feeling. Fucking hell it got worse. Jesus fuck it was so good. tho | y | 33 | 18.03.2026 | y | come and see | full-length | 1985 | elem klimov | soviet/russian | rec by some1 on youraislopbores dot me | very fascinating. None of the sounds r quite right. Not after the first bombs fell. You dont rly notice how loud everything becomes unless you pause. Good film. I dont like war films tho i dont think. I just feel kinda numb. It wasnt too bad i guess, but then again what could be worse than this?
